The Chess16x16 Android app is a single-player chess game. It does not require an account, does not ask for your name or email, does not show advertising, and does not contain in-app purchases. It does not transmit your personal information to us or to any third party.
The App stores the following information locally on your device, in private application storage that other apps cannot read:
This information stays on your device. It is removed if you uninstall the App or use the system "Clear data" option for the App.
The App does not collect, send, or store any of the following:
The App requests only the minimum permissions Android requires to run a local game:
The App does not request internet, location, contacts, camera, microphone, calendar, or SMS permissions.
We do not share your information with any third party.
The only third party involved in the App's distribution is Google, which operates the Google Play Store and Google Play Billing. When you purchase, install, or update the App, Google receives information directly from your device under Google's own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We do not receive your payment details, your Google account email, or your name from Google; we only receive an aggregated report of total purchases.
The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from any person under 13 years of age. Because the App does not collect personal information from anyone, no special collection of children's data occurs. If you believe a child under 13 has been improperly affected by the App, write to admin @ chess16x16.com.
Because all data the App stores is on your device and never transmitted to us, retention is controlled entirely by you:
The App uses Android's standard private application storage so that other installed apps cannot read its files. Because no personal information leaves your device, network breaches affecting our infrastructure cannot expose your App data.
You have the right to:
Because we hold no personal information about you on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete, correct, or transfer. Requests for "access" or "deletion" of personal data held by us will be answered with confirmation that no such data exists.
The App is published from the United States. The App itself does not send data internationally because it does not send data at all. If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with specific data-protection rights, those rights apply to any future data we may collect; today, no such data is collected.
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if a future version of the App adds new functionality. The "Effective date" at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be summarized at the top of this page for at least 30 days after the change takes effect.
